Barrett Compliance & Consulting LLC (“Barrett Compliance,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website (barrettcompliance.com) and the GovReady™ suite of Chrome extensions (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
Website visitors: When you submit our contact form, we collect the information you provide — name, email, phone number, job title, company, state, and your message. We do not collect this information automatically; it is only submitted voluntarily.
GovReady™ Chrome Extension users: Each GovReady extension operates locally in your browser. Extensions store your assessment inputs, scores, and generated reports using Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage) on your own device. We do not transmit, collect, or have access to the compliance data, answers, or documents you enter into any GovReady extension unless you explicitly choose to purchase a report, in which case payment processing information (handled entirely by Stripe — see Section 4) is the only data that leaves your device.
Payment information: If you purchase a paid report or feature through a GovReady extension, payment is processed directly by Stripe. We do not collect, see, or store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment credentials. Stripe’s own privacy policy governs that data: https://stripe.com/privacy
2. How We Use Information
- To respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form
- To deliver the compliance report or feature you purchased
- To improve our Services and website
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for our business records. Extension data (your assessment answers, scores, and reports) is stored locally on your device and is under your control — uninstalling the extension or clearing browser storage removes it.

5. Permissions Used by GovReady™ Extensions
Each GovReady extension requests only the browser permissions necessary for its single stated purpose (for example, storage to save your assessment progress locally). We do not request or use permissions to track your browsing activity across other websites.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information you’ve submitted through our contact form by emailing us at the address below. Because extension data is stored locally on your device, you control and can delete it at any time through your browser settings or by uninstalling the extension.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are intended for business and professional use and are not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last Updated” date above.
